I try to keep diary about my beagles. *Ressu (Daragoj Second to None) is my youngest dog and it has came to live with us in nowember 2008. It is born in April 2007. *Lenni (Daragoj Lenier) is the dog of my life, our first agility dog. Lenni is born in March 2001. I started competing with him at 2003. It has teached me quite a lot about agility and still is. I am getting there slowly. Many mistakes will come and we try to learn more from them.

Catching up once again

Those who are our friends in facebook know that I have been sick for three weeks. "Souvenier" from Ahvenanmaa competion trip I got kennel cough. Many of our friends got it too but I had the worst symptoms. Coughing slime and breathing broblems. Mom cancelled my training group place because I begining to be "a old man" and here has been very gold (mostly about -20 celcius). She thinks that I need a long recovery time.

This is the reason last years National Championship competions seems to be my last on personal level.

Ressu was sick too but cought only one night and didn't need antibiot like me.

Mom is trying to tell us that we have to be resting because there is risk to get pneumonia, "burden cough" or heart problems if we are exercising to early. But is so boring not to do anything. She don't even clicker train us because she says that we get too over ecited.

A weekend in Eckerö, Åland

Mom and I had younster free weekend in Åland ( a big island between Finland and Sweden what belongs in Finland).

This ment that we had three hours driving and boat trip that lasted five hours to get there. We had four agility competions there.

Saturday competion D:

We got overtimed 5 from the track. The mistake game after she first lost me, and after it she just did not give me fast enough information to go wave. Her friend has earlier told that she need to keep her back streight. She was jogging on track not running. And we realy have to something with that dogwalk. That she keeps blaming on me. On training she runs forward and I stay in dog run but earlier if she tryed in competion I jumped over the contact area. If she slowed down I made great running contact. Now when she slows down I stand and bark on down run. After A -frame she told too slowly to me to turn because (now you can here her excuse) she was affraid that I would turn on A-frame and miss the contact.

C-track (Jump course)

Can you imagine. She blames me from this DQ. I dropped thrid bar becouse she turned me too early. And the Dq came from the tunnel after waves.

E-track (jump course)

And this one. Don't want to even say anything first she shows something and then it is not what she is telling. MAKE UP YOUR MIND WOMAN! (she keeps doing the track differently than she plans and it always ends up like mess)

Sundays track mom needs to be proud that we made "cleanrun" (overtimed but no track mistakes)From 49 competors in medium 3 class only 19 got result ( 3 cleanruns under timelimit and two over timed)

Couple of savers midlle of track and there is lot to embrove.

Years first agility competions (with Lenni)

We started a year with three DQ's. That was expected result after 3 months brake. Mom was so late and did not get her handling to flow at all. She made SAME mistake on two first tracks. There was same jump tunnel compination on both tracks and she FORGOT to turn me on time. So those where the two DQ's. She was rushing too much and there was a lot of problems because that (mainly too many obstacles were jumped and once she even pulled me away from tunnel) She was very pround of my energy level and felt little bit sorry that she could not handle her cometion nerves at this time. Here is videos from the last two tracks.

(Because competion was late on timetable we needed to left the track after DQ in this track)

Waiting for the year 2010

Every year we give our 7 best competion results to the kennel clubs secretary to solve who is going to get the title "years agility dog". I was suprised when mom told that we had only two clean runs in whole year.

I have competed 229 times in my whole career. From these 140 has been DQ (that is 61%), 52 times I had result between 5-20 (23%). Cleanruns without overtime 15 times (7%) and overtimed cleanruns 11pcs (5%). And the results over 20 I had 10 psc (4 %). Not so pretty *eh*.

So if we look it more closely. In the class 1 we had 32 DQ (54%), 3 clenruns (5%), 3 overtimed cleanruns (under 5 result)(5%), 16 result 5-20 (27%), 5 over 20 results (7%). We had 59 starts before getting class 2. In the class 2 we had 33 DQ (62%), 4 cleanruns (8%), 1 overtimer cleanrun (2%), 14 result 5-20 (26%) ,1 over 20 result. We had 53 starts before getting class 3.

And the class 3: 75 DQ (64%), 8 cleanruns (7%), 7 overtimed cleanruns (6%), 23 result 5-20 (20%), 4 over 20(3%). We have had 117 starts in this class.

And last year:

33 DQ (67%), 2 cleanruns (4%), 6 overtimed cleanruns(12%), 7 result 5-20(14%), 1 over 20 result (2%). We had 49 starts.

Absolutely best event of the year was our competion in National championshios in Tornio. We managed to make two overtimed cleanruns (one in team and one in personal). We were 55/124.

Playing with clicker

Honey asked mom to take video off our clicker training. That was probably not good idea. Becouse she did miss couple of times timings when she focused to keep us in camera. (And she kept dropping treats on the floor. There were over 20 minutes/beagle so she edited some clips for you to see. Mom is trying to teach us to go stand in the box with all four paws.

Lenni's video:*beware of barking beagle*

Ressu's video:*beware of the beagle nose*

For a long time we have had opportunity go agility trainings. Next time when we are going to compete is end of the year.

Lenni is on group where we train only full tracks. And the goal is to get him to move more away from mom.

Ressu is learning basics and mom has big problems to guide him "dummy" way like she says. Lenni does lot of things on track with small hints and she is used to guide that way. But Ressu needs very spesific information what to do so she needs to take every movement in parts and show more focused every obstacle.

Ressu's contact is still sitting on dogwalks down contact and eating sausage.
Ressu's waves are teached with clicker and he does them on right side all 12 and left side is stil on 4.
