I try to keep diary about my beagles. *Ressu (Daragoj Second to None) is my youngest dog and it has came to live with us in nowember 2008. It is born in April 2007. *Lenni (Daragoj Lenier) is the dog of my life, our first agility dog. Lenni is born in March 2001. I started competing with him at 2003. It has teached me quite a lot about agility and still is. I am getting there slowly. Many mistakes will come and we try to learn more from them.

Catching up once again

Those who are our friends in facebook know that I have been sick for three weeks. "Souvenier" from Ahvenanmaa competion trip I got kennel cough. Many of our friends got it too but I had the worst symptoms. Coughing slime and breathing broblems. Mom cancelled my training group place because I begining to be "a old man" and here has been very gold (mostly about -20 celcius). She thinks that I need a long recovery time.

This is the reason last years National Championship competions seems to be my last on personal level.

Ressu was sick too but cought only one night and didn't need antibiot like me.

Mom is trying to tell us that we have to be resting because there is risk to get pneumonia, "burden cough" or heart problems if we are exercising to early. But is so boring not to do anything. She don't even clicker train us because she says that we get too over ecited.

I am sorry to hear that you have been sick. I was sick last weekend, but I have recovered and am back to my normal self now. My sickness was not as bad as yours. I hope you will fully recover from it really soon.

Love,
Cinnamon

Oh no, Lenni - how awful!! I have heard a lot about the 'kennel cough' sickies although I have not had it myself - it sounds very serious. I think your human was wise to stop your training and let you rest. I hope you get better and are back to your normal self soon!

It is like the flu. Main problem is that we are both vaccinated against it but it does not cover all of the bacteria what makes this disease. People are self-centeredness and if they have healthy dog in house they train with it. These "healthy" dogs carry the disease. Another reason why it is spreads here is that people really don't have that two weeks quarantine after the symptoms have ended. And this means the quarantine is for all the households dogs been sick or not.
